African Bioeconomy University (ABU) is envisioned as a continental hub for education, research, and innovation in the bioeconomy. ABU aims to harness Africa’s rich biodiversity, indigenous knowledge, and scientific potential to build sustainable, inclusive, and resilient economic systems.

As the first of its kind in Africa, ABU will focus on developing leaders, researchers, and practitioners capable of advancing bio-based industries in agriculture, health, energy, environment, and biotechnology for the green and circular economy.

Mission

Empower the next generation of African and Global scientists, innovators, entrepreneurs, and policymakers through interdisciplinary education, cutting-edge research, and strategic partnerships that harness the continent’s biological resources for inclusive and sustainable growth.

Vision

Be a Knowledge Hub for continental bioeconomy education, research, and innovation that drives sustainable development, economic transformation, and environmental stewardship across Africa.
