CoELIB Centre Welcomes Visitors from NEPAD, SIFA, and The Kisii National Polytechnic

On August 11th of 2021. CoELIB Centre welcomed a delegation of staff and faculty from NEPAD, SIFA, and the Kisii National Polytechnic. This is a precursor of the SIFA project that will be executed at the Kisii National Polytechnic in partnership with Egerton University – CoLEIB Centre.

Skills Initiative for Africa (SIFA) is an initiative of the African Union Commission (AUC) supported by the German Government to strengthen the occupational prospects of young people in Africa.

This meeting offered a benchmarking platform for the execution SIFA project at the Kisii National Polytechnic given CoELIB Centre’s Longstanding success and experience in the youth empowered front in matters of business and entrepreneurship.

This visit comes at a time when CoELIB Centre is beginning the implementation of a programme titled ‘Kenya Empowered Youth (KEY)’ in collaboration with USAID as the funding partner among others. The programme will connect youth in 26 counties in Kenya through social and economic opportunities.

On CoELIB Centre: "This is a very noble idea and I am hoping that Kisii National Polytech, through your mentorship and guidance can have something prototyped from this (CoELIB Centre) and growing in a different way". - Mr. James Wamwangi, SIFA Country Coordinator
